Florence Arlene McCullough, 89, passed away at Adrian Manor Nursing Home on Saturday, April 27, 2002. Born on May 10, 1912, in Hoxie, KS, to Henry and Maude Oltmans, Arlene moved to Adrian, MO, from Hoxie at the age of five to attend grade and high school there. Upon graduation, she moved to Kansas City, where she lived before entering the Adrian Nursing Home in July 1998. Arlene was united in marriage to Tom McCullough on December 29, 1929. To this union were born two sons, Thomas H. McCullough and Bob L. McCullough. Arlene retired after 34 years of employment at Sears Roebuck and Company in 1977, at the 15th and Cleveland location, where she was supervisor of the telephone sales department. Arlene was a member of the Longview United Methodist Church, Royal Neighbors, The Adrian, MO, Alumni and the Sears Retirees Club. Arlene was preceded in death by her husband, Tom, in 1993, and her son, Thomas, in 1999. She had two brothers and five sisters. Survivors include her son, Bob and wife Arleta of Kansas City, MO, and her brother, Leonard H. Oltman of Tucson, AZ. Arlene had 11 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and two greatgreat-grandchildren. Janet McCullough, Jeannie Davis, her sons, Steve and Christopher, Jeffrey McCullough, his daughters Jessica and Whitney, James Witt, Jeanen Carr, her family, Ahlea, Jacob and Katie. Debbie and Bob Foltz, their daughter, Amanda. Diane and Dave Mosier, their family Owen and Victoria. Darla and James Smith, their family Billy Joe, Chris, Millissia, Tony, Cody and Taylor. Tommy and Jackie McCullough, their family, Tom, Justin and Meagan. Donna and Gabriel Gutierrez, their family Amanda and Michael. Doris and Rich Ruffcorn, their family, Adam, Abraham and Joseph. Great-great-grandchildren, Nicolas Thomas and Gaines Mitchell. Also, many nieces and nephews to whom she was known and loved as "Aunt Pete."
...Funeral services will be 11 a.m.Tuesday, April 30, at Duane E. Harvey Funeral Home (formerly Carson's Funeral Home), 9100 Blue Ridge Blvd., Kansas City, MO, where friends may visit 7-9 p.m. Monday; burial in Crescent Hill Cemetery, Adrian, MO.
