Oct. 3, 1977 - Dec. 10, 2008
Born in Huntsville, she was the youngest of four children to Ralph and Carolyn Burns.
A graduate of Virgil Grissom High School, she received her bachelor's degrees in graphic arts and music business with honors from Middle Tennessee State University, and her master's degree in marriage and family counseling from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth.
Becky was employed as the graphic designer at Travis Avenue Baptist Church in Fort Worth, where she was also a devoted church member and active participant in the Single Adult and Outreach Ministry.
Becky loved giving, using her caring and creative nature to help others in any way possible. She loved the arts, including photography and creating diverse arts and crafts for loved ones. She was excited to recently purchase a home and quickly it became yet another canvas upon which to decorate with artifacts from a life filled with adventure and joy. She enjoyed music and was recently learning to play the violin. She also loved children, as was evident through her years of being a nanny. She was devoted to God, Jesus, her friends, and her family, and she will be missed and loved always.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Arch and Hazel Meagher, and Ralph and Annie Burns; aunt, Betty Ruth Burns Cobb; and uncle, Ronald Gray.
Survivors include parents, Carolyn and Ralph Burns; siblings, Tom Burns and wife Cecilia Sun, Elizabeth Burns, and Jennifer Burns Dixon and husband Mike; aunt, Catherine Burns Gray; and uncles, Bill Meagher and Steve Cobb.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at Trinity United Methodist Church. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. with Dr. Charles Gattis officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery, followed by a dinner for relatives and out of town guests at the church.
In lieu of floral tributes, donations in Becky's name may be made to the missions programs at Trinity United Methodist Church.
