Helen A. Messmore
Helen A. Messmore, 75, of Shelbyville died Thursday, Dec. 11, 2008, at St. Francis Hospital and Health Center in Indianapolis.
Born April 16, 1933, in Shelbyville, she was the daughter of Paul R. and Mary Margaret (Hendrickson) Lambert. She married A. Wray Messmore on Aug. 25, 1950, and he preceded her in death on Dec. 26, 1990.
Survivors include her daughter, Tina H. Messmore of Shelbyville; daughter-in-law, Rita F. Messmore of Shelbyville; brother, Freddie Lambert of Shelbyville; grandsons, Matthew Messmore of Indianapolis and Bradley Messmore of Shelbyville; and great-grandson, Ryder Messmore of Greenwood.
She also was preceded in death by her parents; son, Phillip R. Messmore who preceded her in death on May 30, 2003; and brother, Harold Lambert.
Mrs. Messmore was a lifelong Shelbyville resident.
She was a homemaker and had been a waitress.
Mrs. Messmore was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Fairland.
She loved her children, grandchildren, great-grandson, her church family, singing and the Lord Jesus Christ.
Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Freeman Family Funeral Homes, Carmony-Ewing Harrison Street Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St.
Funeral services will be at noon on Monday at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
