Mrs. Mary Wells, 82, resident of Van Lear, died in a local hospital
at 3:15 a.m. Thursday April 25 1963, after an extended illness.
The daughter of the late Joe and Exer Ward Branham, she was born in
this county September 12 1880, and had lived at Van Lear
and Johns Creek most of her life.
Her husband, Walker Wells, preceded her in death November 8 1954.
Surviving are five sons, Willia Wells, Lorain,Ohio; Joe Wells,
McCar Nevard Wells, Van Lear; Wilbur Wells, Toplin, W. Va.;
Roland D. Wells, Van Lear; two daughters, Mrs. Exer Cline, Cordel;
Mrs. Alta Huden, Wabash Ind; a brother, Tan Branham, Boons Camp;
a sister, Martha Ward, Boons Camp.
Funeral services were conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday at the
Philadelphia Church of Christ with Cecil Sherman
as officiating minister.
