DIED AT YORK: Funeral for George Sabin Bridgwood at Ohiowa Monday.
A former resident of Fairbury, George Sabin Bridgewood, passed away May 19, at the Lutheran hospital at York, Nebraska, where he had been taken for treatment.
Mr. Bridgewood was born near Ohiowa, Nebraska, March 18, 1882. He was married to Elsie Sisler Van Cleef in 1911. To this union two children were born, the first, a son, dying in infancy, and a daughter, Dorothy, now twelve years old. Mrs. Bridgewood died in April, 1925. Besides his daughter George leaves his aged mother and brother James of Ohiowa, a brother, Roy of Tobias and a sister, Mrs. John Nippert, of Alexandria, and many other relatives and friends.
He was a carpenter by trade, moving from Fairbury to Strang three years ago where he went into the contracting and building business for himself.
Funeral services were held at the Harmony church southwest of Ohiowa Monday, May 21, Rev. Wagner of Ohiowa officiating and burial was in the adjoining cemetery on the family lot besides his wife and son. Services at the grave were conducted by the Strang I.O.O.F. lodge of which he was a member. He also belonged to the Bruning Camp M.W.A.
