Killed in Accident
The Henderson Heninger family of Afton received word from the War department that their son, Sgt Wilford Heninger had been killed in an air accident last Tuesday.
There was no plane crash as has been rumored.
Wilford was a gunner on a big bomber. No other crew member was injured.
Wilford and his crew flew over the valley about three weeks ago, and he dropped a note form the plane saying hello to his folks. He was in on a furlough two weeks ago, and had only been back to his post at Wendover, Utah a few days since his furlough.
He said he was going to train at high altitudes when he went back and a rumor has been circulated that the accident occurred at high altitude and that his oxygen tank did not work. However, this is only a rumor.
His body is being shipped home, and when it arrives, funeral services will be announced. The body may arrive at any time.
