He died in a Paris hospital at 8 p.m. - Born and raised in Fort Smith, Mr. Beckel was a star athlete and an outstanding football player. He lived in Paris the past 12 years. - Survivors include his wife, two children; his mother, Mrs. Ida (Panze) Beckel of Fort Smith;a sister Miss Corinne Beckel, a brother Floyd Beckel both of Fort Smith. - Funeral services to be held at Putman Funeral home pending final arrangements.
