John Wilson Amole, 84, of Pottstown
John Wilson Amole, 84, of East High Street, Pottstown, died July 21, 2008, peacfully at home surrounded by his family. Husband of Barbara Jean (Fitzsimmons) and was formerly married to the late Dorothy (Long) Amole for 46 years.
Born in Douglassville, he was the son tothe late John L. Amole and the late Lottie (Levengood).
He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II, having served on the Destroyer Tender U.S.S. Doyle C. Barnes.
Mr. Amole had worked in the maintenance department for the former Bethlthem Steel Co. of Pottstown. He then served as manager and maintenance man for the former Shaner's Apartments for 30 years. He was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Stowe. He was a volunteer for the Montgomery County Geriatric Center, now Parkhouse Providence Pointe, in Royersford for over 20 years.
Surviving is a daughter, Bonnie E., wife of James T. Potts of Lower Pottsgrove Township; a granddaughter, Christine R., wife of Joseph Bonfiglio of Royersford; three great-grandsons, Brian Levengood, Michael and Joseph Bonfiglio. Also, two sisters, Esther wife of John Scheib of Pottstown and Dorothy Miller of Douglassville. Also, three brothers, Joseph H., husband of Marie of Stowe, Leonard Amole, husband of Esther of Amityville and Paul Amole, husband of Marie of Elverson. He was predeceased by two brothers, Harold and David Amole and a sister, Martha Neuman.
Funeral services will be Friday at 11 a.m. from Walker-Troutman Funeral Home, 726 High St., Pottstown, with the Rev. John Smolik officiating. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park. A viewing will be Friday from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
