The following is from the Union Democrat newspaper of Sonora, California.

Oscar Willis Red, Retired Columbia Miner, Succumbs to Illness
Funeral services for Oscar W. Red, 65, a resident of Columbia, were conducted on Monday from the Bigelow Mortuary.
Interment was in the Columbia City Cemetery.
Mr. Red, who succumbed last Thursday in a Sonora hospital following a long illness, was formerly engaged as a miner.
He leaves a son, Oscar E. Red of Missouri; a daughter, Mrs. Cleva Speer of Los Angeles; a brother, A. R. Red of Southgate, California. and three grandchildren.
