Courtney Lynn Alexander, 19, of Gardner, Kansas, passed away Friday, April 28, 2000, at Overland Park Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be 11:30 am Monday, May 1, at Bruce Funeral Home, Gardner, Kansas. There will be a private family graveside service. Visitation will be 9:30-11:30 am Monday prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Courtney Alexander Memorial for Musical Arts in care of the funeral home.

Courtney was born November 27, 1980, in Overland Park, Kansas, and lived in Johnson County all of her life, moving to Gardner from Olathe, Kansas, five years ago. She was active in band and instrumental music during her high school career. Courtney was a 1999 graduate of Gardner Edgerton High School.

Survivors include her parents, Joseph M and Cheryl Cartwright Alexander, Gardner, Kansas; sister, Melaney Jo Alexander, of the home; paternal grandparents, Mr and Mrs J C Alexander, Gardner, Kansas; maternal grandmother, Margaret Cartwright, Memphis, Tennessee.

She leaves local survivors including her grandmother, Margaret Cartwright of Memphis. The family requests that any memorials be sent to Courtney Alexander Memorial for Musical Arts.
