Merle Ann Sorensen, 86, our beloved mother, grandmother, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on January 29, 1990.

Born August 25, 1903 in Sandy, Utah to Henry Gregory and Elizabeth Butterfield Gregory.

Married Irvin W. Sorensen on May 11, 1922 in Salt Lake City. He preceded her in death on October 23, 1986. They lived in Murray, Utah for thirty-nine years, where they raised five children. They later moved to Fairview, Utah.

During the 40's, she worked at Remington Arms and later retired from Peerless Laundry.

Member LDS Church. During the last year and a half of her life, she lived with her daughter in Sandy. She had a special love for her gardening and the great outdoors.

'Mom, we will miss you and we love you. Give Dad a big kiss from all of us.''

She leaves a great posterity of three children, Donald S. Sorensen, Fairview; Elva M. Rackley, Murray, Utah; and Jeanette I. Childs, Sandy, Utah; twenty-four grandchildren; seventy-six great-granchildren; and thirty-six great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by a son, Duane ''Buck'' Sorensen; and a daughter, Beverly A. Baker.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 3, 1990 at Memorial Estates Mortuary, 5850 South 900 East, Murray, where friends may call on Friday, February 2, 1990 from 7:00-9:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the services on Saturday.
Burial will be in the Redwood Memorial Estates Cemetery, 6500 South Redwood Road (1700 West), Taylorsvile.
