Rev. J. W. Farrell, age 80, of Russellville, died Tuesday, February 25, 2003, at his home. A son of the late William and Monte Summerford Farrell, he was born October 9, 1922, at Monticello, Arkansas. He was a United States Air Force veteran of World War II; was an ordained minister for over fifty years with the Assemblies of God; and a member of First Assembly of God in Russellville.

Survivors include his wife of sixty-one years, Irene Farrell; a son and daughter-in-law, John David and Roxann Farrell of Dover; a daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Larry Dane of Russellville; two grandchildren, Rev. Mark Dane and Larenda Frederick; two step-grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral will be 2 P.M., Friday, February 28, 2003, at First Assembly of God with Rev. Bobby Johnson and Rev. Larry Moore officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service.

Active pallbearers will be Bill Payton, John Feltner, Shane Kasper, Lamar Moore, Cameron Lane, and Dane Hall. Honorary pallbearers will be John Leonard, Lester Mashburn, Joe Metz, Clifton Duvall, Clifton Andrews, and James Morphis.

Memorials may be made to Pope County Health Department Hospice, 203 Weir Road, Russellville, Arkansas 72801.

Military honors will be provided by the V. F. W. Rogers-Rye Post # 2283.
