She was the daughter of Edward and Blanche B. Horstman Monroe. She was the twin sister of Bernice Elizabeth Pool. She married James Bruce on June 9, 1956 in Clearwater, Florida.

Survivors include: nephew, Larry Pool, Veedersburg. She was preceded in death by twin sister, Bernice E. Pool in 1954.
Graveside services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday at Waynetown Masonic Cemetery with Rev Rusty Anderson officiating. There will be no visitations.
