Lucy Morgan Wallace, widow of Howard Wallace, passed away on Tuesday, December 9, 2008 at Crouse Hospital. Mrs. Wallace was 92 and a native and life resident of the Syracuse area. She was the daughter of Claude and Genevieve Morgan, and is immediately survived by her son, Donald Neal McKay of Inman, SC; her sisters, Betty Morgan of Syracuse and Jane Mascari of Baldwinsville. She was predeceased by her brothers, Leo, Claude, Thomas, Robert and James, all of Syracuse. Also surviving are granddaughter, Shawn N. Sanders, of Rockville, MD; and her great-grandchildren, Ian and Erin Sanders of Rockville, MD; Mrs. Wallace's longtime friend and companion, Fredric Brown of Liverpool, in addition to numerous nieces and nephews. She attended Cathedral School and graduated from St. John the Baptist High School in 1934. Lucy worked for Syracuse Typesetting Company, was with Career Counselors - Travel Merchants for 21 years and taught typing and business English for 10 years at Central Technical School, and assisted her second husband, Orley Hager with his marble and tile business. Mrs. Wallace was a member of the Syracuse Corinthian Club and a communicant of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Liverpool, and member of the former Nocturnal Adoration Society. She enjoyed playing bridge with her ladies club, traveling and was an avid fan of Syracuse University sports. Funeral services are 8:45 a.m. FRIDAY at Keegan-Osbelt-Knight Funeral Home and 9:30 a.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church. Burial in Assumption Cemetery. Calling hours are 4 to 7 p.m. THURSDAY at the funeral home, 900 N. Salina Street.
