Mary Ruder, 88, died Thursday evening at her home, 510 East 18th St. She had been a longtime area resident. She was born Nov. 18, 1889 in Russia, the daughter of Gerhard and Catherine (Engel) Boos.

She married Henry V. Ruder in 1910 at Munjor; he died in April 1976.

She was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Hays, and Christian Mothers.

Survivors: Five sons, Fidelis and Nick, both of Hays, Celestine, Kearney, Neb., Wilfred, El Dorado, and Herbert, Askov, Minn.; three daughters, Mrs. Ernest (Alvina) Bracco, Northglenn, Colo., Sr. Celestine, Concordia, and Mrs. Edgar (Romilda) Klaus, Columbia, Mo.; three brothers, Joseph, A. A. and Paul Boos, all of Hays; two sisters, Mrs. Ed (Catherine) Sanders, Hays, and Mrs. Al (Josephine) Weingardt, Colorado; 24 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great- grandchildren.

Funeral 11 a.m. Saturday, Immaculate Heart of Mary Church; St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call until 9 p.m. Friday and until the time of service at Brock's North Hill Chapel. Parish wake at 8 p.m. Friday and Christian Mother's rosary at 10 a.m. Saturday, both at Brock's.
