"William Clarence Clark, 89, 616 Park Avenue, Covington, died at 10:15 a.m. May 19, 1991, at Covington Manor Health Car Center, where he had been a resident one month. He was born December 13, 1901, at Paynesville, Missouri, the son of Edward and Eunice Elizabeth Wade Clark. He was married to Agnes Louise Laneman, June 28, 1924, at St. Louis. She survives.

He was an associate professor of pharmacology at Indiana University School of Medicine, Indianapolis from 1952 until his retirement in 1966. They then moved to Covington in 1976.

Surviving, besides his wife, are: three children, Edith Pankow, Edwardsville, Illinois, William E. Clark, Normal, Illinois, Donald A. Clark, Covington; two brothers, Ralph C. Clark, Springfield, Missouri, Dr. Glynn Clark, St. Louis; a sister, Mildred Bright, Tempe, Arizona; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Joan Clark; a sister, Mary Fewell, Mesa, Arizona; a brother, Eugene Clark, Redding, California.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Main Street, Danville, Illinois, with Pastor Dan Guench officiating. Burial will be in Lutheran Cemetery, Danville, Illinois. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Shelby Funeral Home, Covington.
