Jesse R. Schreckhise, 71 years old, of Alma, Arkansas, died Tuesday, October 10, 1967 at the veterans hospital at Fayetteville following a long illness. Born May 16, 1896 at St Catherine, Missouri. Mr. Schreckhise was the son of Henry and Sadie Bell (Hungate)Schreckhise. He was a retired coal miner and veteran of World War One.

Survivors are his wife, Mary Elizabeth; six sons, George Henry, Faxon F. pastor of United Pentecostal church of Alma, Robert also of Alma, James, Jack and Roy Leonard, all of Kansas City, Kansas; five daughters, Margaret; of Big Springs, Texas, Roberta of Paramount, California Mrs. Reese of Great Falls, Montana, Lula of Alma and Barbara of Kansas city, a brother Virgil of Washington State; a sister Oma of New Cameron, MO; two half-Brothers,Joe of Elgin, Ill., and Frank of Rockford, Ill.; 43 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Funeral service was held Friday at 2 p.m. at the Alma United Pentecostal church on highway 64. J. D. Middleton of Clarksville was the officiating minister. Burial was in Alma City cemetery under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home.

Grandsons served as casket bearers.
