The Lamar County Echo, September 1977. 'Marshall Tippit, 77, of 316 Pine Bluff, died Thursday evening, September 15, 1977, in a local hospital. Funeral services were held Saturday after at Leverett and Steele Chapel' with the Rev. Larry Solice officiating Internment was made in West Memorial Cemetery at Quinlan. Mr. Tippit was born in Center Point, Arkansas, on January 22, 1900, son of Eli and Ellen Tippit. He was first married to Dovie Mae Ellis in Paris in 1921, whose death occurred in 1973. He later married Cora Wilson in Paris in 1975. He was a retired oil field worker and was a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife; one son, Carl Tippit of Route 3, Paris; three daughters, Mrs. Raymond bolt (Buna Mae) of Ardmore, Oklahoma, Mrs. Fred Lackey (Maris) of Prosper and Mrs. Dean Thompson (Ann) of Prosper; one brother Ollie Tippit of Paris; 21 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren'.
