Another Pioneer Gone.
W.W. Dunham, an early pioneer of this county, died at his home in Roca, Sunday evening, aged nearly 86 years. He is survived by three sons, Frank Dunham of Lincoln, Fred and George Dunham of Chicago, and two daughters, Miss Anna Dunham and Mrs. Ella Hodgkins of Roca.
Mr. Dunham was born at Nelsonville, Ohio, in September 1826. He married Mary Elizabeth Hilton about 1851 in Ohio. They came to Nebraska in 1858 and in 1867, took a homestead on the 80 acre farm three miles northwest of Roca, now occupied by Henry Larabee. During President Cleveland's first administration, he was appointed postmaster at Roca and held that position continuously for twenty-one years, when in 1906 he resigned on account of his age.
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon, conducted by Rev. L. L. Hauthorn, and interment was made in Roca cemetery.
