His parents were Harvey Chubb, born in Connecticut, and Caroline Welsh, born in New York.



Obituary from The Carthage Evening Press, Carthage, Jasper, MO, Tuesday, Sept. 6, 1927:

VETERAN ATTORNEY SUCCUMBS

W.C.Chubb, 81 years old died about 7:30 o'clock last night at his home, 1511 Hazel street.

Mr. Chubb was born August 8, 1864 at Niles, Mich., He attended the University of Michigan and obtained his degree in law from that school. He moved to Corning, Iowa, where he opened an office and practiced law there for 50 years. He and his family moved to Carthage about four months ago from Lebanon, Mo., and purchased the property where they make their home.

Besides his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Ida, who makes her home with her parents.

Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon at the Knell parlors. The Rev. D. W. Britton, pastor of the First Methodist Episcopal church, will be in charge. Burial will be in Park cemetery.


Submitter's note: He was actually survived by his wife and two daughters, neither of whom ever wed. They were Ida Maude Chubb and Ella Marie Chubb.
