Notorious Ohio Riverboat Captain. He had a mutual dislike for his competitors. He built a large family Vault along the steep banks of the River across from Louisville, and was interred there standing up, so he could look out the porthole of the vault and curse his river rivals.
It is now merely a cenotaph in disrepair as his remains were removed to Cave Hill cemetery and interred with his wife in the James Irvin Tomb.
Passing boats still sound their whistles when passing what is now known as "Vault Point"
From his other memorial, he died in Harrison County, Indiana. His other memorial is 8073314.
