Mrs. Abbie Lee Bridges, age 94 of Grapeland, passed away Sunday, October 14, 2007 at the East Texas Medical Center in Crockett. Mrs. Bridges was born February 2, 1913 in Anderson County to Bruce James and Beulah Bennett James. Mrs. Bridges was a member of the Grapeland First United Methodist Church. Mrs. Bridges was a farmer's housewife.
Survivors include her two grandchildren Selena Jo Cryer and William Bridges, both of Grapeland; four great-grandchildren Cieja Cryer and Joe Cryer, of Grapeland, Sam Bridges and Dalton Bridges, of Ill.; and two great- great-grandchildren Haylee Jo Cryer and Micah Cryer, both of Grapeland; and two nieces: Samantha Baker, of Henderson and Grace Towery, of Grapeland.
Preceded in death by her parents Bruce James and Beulah Bennett James; husband William Clarence Bridges; son Joe Billie Bridges; sister Cora Mae Estes; and brothers Otha James and Marvin James.
Graveside Services for Mrs. Abbie Lee were held Wednesday, October 17, at 3:00 p.m. in Parker Cemetery with Dr. Jack Shoultz and the Rev. Bill Denham officiating.
