Bertha Staton McCall Houck
Bertha Staton McCall Houck, 100, of Greensboro, N.C. formerly of Morganton, N.C. died Sunday, Dec. 7, 2008, at Friends Homes at Guilford in Greensboro.
Born in Avery County on April 7, 1908, she was the daughter of the late James C. Staton and Elizabeth Greene Staton.
Bertha was a member of First United Methodist Church and was an associate member of West Market United Methodist Church in Greensboro. She retired from Lazarus Clothing Store. She was a member of Chapter 14 of the Order of the Eastern Star.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Clarence L. McCall; her second husband, Elmer L. Houck; and her son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Betty McCall.
The graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Forest Hill Cemetery.
