Mr. Adam C. Gibboney was born at Warrior Nov. 25, 1885, a son of Elmer G. (George Elmer) and Olive M. (Black) Gibboney. He married the former Kathryn Love, who died June 26 of this year. Surviving are three sons, George of Juniata Gap, John C. of Huntingdon and Thomas of Altoona; four daughters, Miss Joanna at home, Mrs. Sherwood Hoover, Mrs. R. B. Wyland and Mrs. C. T. Billings, all of Altoona; 14 grandchildren. two great-grandchildren, one brother, Davis B. of Cresson,and two sisters, Mrs. Joe Zimmerman of Geeseytown, and Mrs. Roxie Glunt of Silver , Md.
Mr. Gibboney was a conductor on the Pittsburgh Division, retirng in 1954 after 50 years of service. He was of the Methodist faith and a member of the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen.
Friends will be received at the Mauk & Yates Funeral Home,
Juniata, after 4 p.m. tomorrow. Interment at Carson Valley Cemetery.

ALTOONAN DIES IN CAR CRASH
An Altoona man was dead on arrival at Memorial Hospital, Johnstown, following a one-car accident on Route 53, two miles south of South Fork, last evening. A passenger in the car Pearl Mallard, 67, of 806 Howard Ave., formerly of Allentown, was admitted to the hospital and is listed as not good with a possible back injury and multiple abrasions of the body.
Mr. Gibboney, father of Altoona Patrolman Thomas Gibboney of 1525 18th Ave., was traveling north, going toward South Fork, when he failed to negotiate a curve and slammed into a tree. Both occupants of the vehicle were thrown through the windshield landing on the hood of the car. Adam G. Gibboney, 79 of 2009 10th St., Altoona, died of a crushed chest and internal injuries.
