Mr. Charles Edward Kohlhoss, Sr., 70, Poolesville, died Monday at Suburban Hospital, Bethesda.
Mr. Kohlhoss, a native of Poolesville, was the owner and operator of the Poolesville Motor Company, which was originally a Ford Motor Company in 1916.
He was a member of the Young Men's Democratic Association of Montgomery County, and served in various positions. In 1961, Mr. Kohlhoss retired from the Montgomery County Board of Education after serving as a school bus driver for 31 years.
He is survived by his wife, Emma Kohlhoss, one son, Charles E. Kohlhoss, Jr., Poolesville; one daughter, Mrs. Nancy K. Young, Silver Spring; one sister, Mrs. Louise K. Ballantyne, Mt. Ranier; one brother, Matthew L. Kohlhoss, Lucketts, Va.; eight grandchildren, and seven nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Hilton Funeral Home, Barnesville, today and tomorrow. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Poolesville Methodist Church. Interment will be in Monocacy Cemetery, Beallsville.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Poolesville Methodist Church Building Fund.
