Mr. Bill Cannady, age 76, of Murray, Kentucky died at 10:10am Wednesday at Murray-Calloway Co. Hospital. He was born October 1,1932 in Sulphur Spring, Texas to the late Claude & Sammie Lucille (Newton) Cannady. Two sisters, Sue Bryarly and Mary Mihu preceded him in death.
Mr. Cannady was a member of Poplar Spring Baptist Church and served as the Director of the Van Ministry. He retired from Briggs & Stratton and was an Army veteran of the Korean War.
He is survived by his wife Carol (Kirby) Cannady to whom he was married June 13,1975; two daughters, Kathy Boyer (Bill) and Rhonda Van Horn; two sons, William Van Horn (Sue) and Scott Van Horn (Suzanne); two sisters, Barbra Cannady and Toni Hardin (Jim); nine grandchildren, James Boyer, Billy Boyer(Tracy), Don Sartin, Kayla Hicks(Jack), Tracy Hardy(Lennie), Lisa Fox(Jamie), Tara Chambers, Anthony Van Horn(Kacey), Will Van Horn; 15 great grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11:00am Friday at Poplar Spring Baptist Church with Rev. Dennis Norvell officiating. Burial will follow in Murray Memorial Gardens, with military honors. Friends may call from 5:00pm - 7:00pm Thursday at York Funeral Home and after 10:00am Friday at the church.
