Evelyn Venkler, 85, of Panama City, Fla., passed away Sunday, March 15, 2009, at home with her family by her side.
She was born in Noma, Fla., and had lived in Bay County, Fla., most of her life. Mrs. Venkler was a charter member of Life and Praise Assembly of God Church in Callaway, Fla. She was a wonderful seamstress and gardener, and loved spending time with her family and friends.
Mrs. Venkler was predeceased by her husband, Charlie Venkler, in 1998. Survivors include three children, Chet Venkler of Panama City, Danny Venkler and wife, Cynthia, of Panama City Beach, Fla., and Glenda Harris and husband, Mike, of Panama City; three grandchildren, Christopher Venkler and wife, Carlie, of Pell City, Ala., Jennifer Beach and husband, Ivan, of Lynn Haven, Fla., and Kelly Daniels and husband, Kevin, of Lynn Haven; and seven great-grandchildren, Aubrey and Michael Venkler, Hailey and Taylor Beach, and Mallory, Olivia and Lilly Daniels.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 18, 2009, at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. John Broome and the Rev. Craig Brannon officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. today, March 17, 2009, at the funeral home.
Flowers will be accepted or donations in Evelyn's name may be made to Hospice of the Emerald Coast.
