Mr. Alford Safley, Pioneer Resident, Passes Tues. Evening
Mr. Alford Safley, pioneer resident of Cedar county, passed away at his late home in Tipton on Tuesday evening, March 28, after an illness of many months. Mr. Safley was born in Red Oak Grove, Cedar county, February 27, 1855, and has spent his entire life in that community and Tipton.
Funeral services will be held at the Sheets funeral home Friday afternoon, at 2 o'clock, with Rev. Marvin Janssen of the Red Oak Grove Presbyterian church in charge. Interment will be in the Red Oak cemetery.
Immediate survivors of Mr. Safley include one son, Howard, of Tipton, five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
