My Uncle Norm was handsome and daring. I remember a time when they lived in the back country and we were visiting. The house was near a creek and one afternoon Uncle Norm said he was going out to "catch dinner". Well, being a city girl, I though he meant fish. But he came back with a HUGE snapping turtle. When he started preparing it for dinner, we discovered it was a female with eggs. I did try eating some fried turtle. You know the saying, "it tastes like chicken".....well, it did.
My Uncle was a character and I will never forget that big smile of his. Rest in Peace my favorite Uncle.
