She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Harlan Fox, her sister, Leona Kauffeld and her husband, Marvin Shaffrey.
She is survived by
her four (4) children, Gary (wife, Sharon) Gastreich, Donna (husband, Michael) Hartung, Marvin (wife, Anastasia) Shaffrey and Robert (wife, Shannon) Shaffrey, all of Catawissa, Missouri,
five (5) grandchildren, Stacey, Jessica, Jared, Lily and Ella,
her sister, Edna Burtscher of Cedar Hill, Missouri
and three (3) brothers, "Sonny" (wife, Barb) Cull of Little Rock, Arkansas, Gerald (wife, Shirley) Cull of Cedar Hill, Missouri and Jack (wife, Debby) Cull of Lonedell, Missouri
and many other relatives and friends.
Dorothy grew-up in Dittmer, Missouri where she attended the original Maple Grove School. She was an extraordinary cook, hosting locals at the "Cedar Hill Café" which she and her mother owned and operated for several years in the early 1970's. Her family recalls her wonderful pies and loving touch as a mother, grandmother and homemaker.
Visitation Friday, December 5, 2008 3-9 p.m. at CHAPEL HILL MORTUARY, 6300 Highway 30, Cedar Hill, MO 63016, (636) 274-4100. Highway 30 West 19 Miles from I-270. Service Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Martin's UCC, 7890 Dittmer Ridge Road, Dittmer, MO 63023 with Visitation one hour prior and Interment to follow in St. Martin's Cemetery.
