Harlen Haughn, son of the late Joe M. Haughn and Laura R. Foster Haughn, was born Dec. 2, 1915, in Elizabeth, Ark.

He died Feb. 23, 2006, in West Plains, Mo., at the age of 90 years.

He was united in marriage on Nov. 17, 1944, in Salem, Ark., to Culen Faye Stokes.

He was a member of the four orders of the IOOF 111 of Woodland, Calif., Rebekah Lodge 249, Woodland, and Canton and Encampment.

His greatest joy was being with family at the holidays and family gatherings.

One niece, Debi, told Uncle Bill he was the best dad anyone could have.

Survivors include his wife, Culen Faye Haughn, of the home in West Plains; two sisters, Velma Parsons of Woodland, Calif., and Olga Berg of Bentonville, Ark.; 13 nieces and nephews, Bill and Vickie Johnson of West Plains, Dennis and Vikki Strutton of Bentonville, Michael and Cindy Sloan of Bentonville, Sheila Watson of Ozark, Mo., Judy Bailey of Woodland, Calif.; Garon Parsons of Woodland; Debi Holmqvist of Woodland, Harold Haughn of Bentonville, Hayden Haughn of Okemal, Okla., Ercil Haughn of Mountain Home, Ark., Micky Hastings of West Plains, David and Sharon Herr of Pattertson, Calif., and Mike and Connie Foster of Goddard, Kan.; and several great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Laura Haughn; two brothers, Roy Haughn and Tollie Haughn; and one sister, Olive Haughn.

Graveside services were held Feb. 25 at the Elizabeth Cemetery.

The funeral arrangements were under the direction of Carter Funeral Home of West Plains, Mo.
