She is survived by two daughters: Wilma (Jr) Fohner of Oakwood and Flora Jean (Dana) Welch of Sherwood; five grandchildren: Jeff (Mary Sue) Welch, Peter (Debbie) Welch, Tim (Debbie) Fohner, Melanie (Lonnie) Ball, Valerie (Ted) Yates; fifteen great-grandchildren: Kelsey Welch, Conor Welch, Ian Welch, Sean Welch, Ducan Welch, Max Welch, Jessica Yates, Stephanie Yates, Mindy Yates, Beth Yates, Andrew Fohner, Alyssa Fohner, Amy Fohner, Amanda Fohner, and Donovan Ball; one great great-grandchild: Marshall Fife; one brother: Merle Merriman of Convoy; and two sisters: Georgia Geren of Oakwood and Jean Britsch of Cloverdale. She was also preceded in death by three brothers: Edward, Leo, and Bruce Merriman, and one sister: Hilda Geren.
Emma operated Emma's Beauty Shop south of Melrose for twenty years. She was a former clerk of Washington Township, Paulding County. She enjoyed square dancing and country and western music. She was a follower of the Len Collier Band. Emma also enjoyed gardening in her greenhouse and giving away the plants she grew to others.
A Funeral Service will be held 12 noon on Saturday, November 14, 2015 at Auglaize Chapel Church of God, Oakwood with Pastor Stan Harman officiating. Burial will follow in Little Auglaize Cemetery, Oakwood. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. on Friday at HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, CONTINENTAL and one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
