Luther D. Beaty, age 68, of the Doubletop Community, passed away Sunday, November 23, 2008 at Baptist Hospital in Nashville, TN.

Mr. Beaty was born May 30, 1940.

Mr. Beaty is survived by wife, Norma Beaty of the Doubletop Community; daughter, Patricia Williams and husband Dale of Whites Creek, TN; two sons, Patrick Beaty and wife Jennifer of Byrdstown and Chad Beaty and wife Lauren of Jamestown; two grandsons; one great-grandson; four sisters, Treva Mifflin and husband Rick of Murfreesboro, TN, Marcella Gunter and husband Dee of Nashville, TN, Margaret Smith and husband Thomas and Norma Wright both of Jamestown; two brothers, Dewell Beaty of Cookeville, TN and Edgar Beaty and wife Faye of Kansas City, MO; mother-in-law, Clara Hinds; and sisters-in-law, Sue Beaty and Gail Hensley.

Mr. Beaty was preceded in death by parents, Earnest and Mazie Beaty; three brothers, Aaron, Dale and Ellis Beaty; nephew, Ronnie Smith; and grandson, Kristopher Williams.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, November 26, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Mundy Funeral Home with Bro. Herman Waldo and Bro. Art Palmer officiating. Burial followed in the Choate Cemetery. Active pallbearers included Tim Beaty, Tommy Matthews, Sam Hensley, Ricky Beaty, Joel Hensley, Jason Beaty, Kyle Beaty and Dan Beaty. Honorary pallbearers included Roel Winningham, Henry Hall, Charles Key, Charlie Palmer, Ray Billingsley, Roy Bearden, Carl Powell and Sam Hinds.
