Colonel Robert P. Halloran, USAF (retired), died November 7, 2008, at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, MD, after a three-month illness; he was 91. Colonel Halloran was born in Syracuse, NY, on October 2, 1917. His parents were John J. Halloran and Louise Flattery Halloran. He graduated from Christian Brothers Academy in 1936 and then worked for the Carrier Corporation in Syracuse for two years before enrolling in Syracuse University in 1938. He was preceded in death by two daughters, Ellen Louise Halloran and Anne Halloran Chandler. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Janice Ealy Halloran; his children, Lt. Colonel (retired) and Mrs. Jerome E. Kelly Sr. (Lee), Dr. and Mrs. Paul F. Mlakar Sr. (Kathleen), Mr. and Mrs. Chris R. Halloran (Mary Anne Gay), Mr. and Mrs. John J. Beach Sr. (Susan), Mr. Stephen R. Halloran; his sister, Margaret Waite; and 16 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at the Fort Myer Chapel on February 2, 2009, followed by interment in Arlington National Cemetery.
