Wyndham enlisted in Confederate Service on June 30, 1862 and served as a 1st Lt. in Company D, 28th MS Cavalry. He was discharged from service on May 22, 1865. After the War, he served in the State Legislature and was appointed Chancery Judge.
Wyndham married Miss Nancy Stanhope Hurst on May 31, 1861. Their known children are Sallie, Ellen Gill, Sue Pelham, Byrd Campbell and Mary Hurst.
