He was born in Mexico and was an Army veteran.

Survivors include a daughter, Betty Ison; six sons, Lee M. Joseph L., Merl M. Frank M., Teuben A. and Julian M. Sanders; 11 brothers; 27 grandchildren.

Services: 7 p.m. Thursday, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, College Avenue and Alameda, Tempe, with visitation one hour before services. Additional services will be in California. Bunker Garden Chapel.
