Fred Milton Hall, Jr., 85, passed away on Friday, November 28, 2008, surrounded by his loving family. He resided at 5175 South 600 West in Washington Terrace, Utah at the time of his death.


He was born November 5, 1923 in Manti, Utah to Fred Milton and Katie Clara Lemon Hall, Sr. He was raised and educated in Manti and attended welding school at Utah State University where he received his certificate of welding. On July 16, 1945, Fred married Ellen Nielson in Manti. Their marriage was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple in 1977. Ellen preceded him in death on May 3, 1995.


He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with a very strong testimony of the Gospel. He held many callings including High Priest Group Leader, Sunday School Presidency and teacher, home teacher, and many others. Fred worked at Hill Air Force Base as a welder and welding supervisor. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, golfing and especially loved time spent with his grandchildren.


Fred is survived by his children, Joel F. (Mary) Hall, Jacklyn H. (Jeff) Stevenson, Camilla H. (Michael) Smith, Marie H. (John) Niemann; 11 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, three brothers, John Arthur, Howard Lynn, Chad Rodney and a sister, Mavis Kathryn Kohler Schubert.


Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, December 6, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the Washington Terrace 5th Ward Chapel, 350 West 5100 South. Friends and family may call on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Boulevard and at the Church on Saturday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.
Interment: Manti City Cemetery.
