Nellie Jane Howerton, 80, of Rt. 2, Marion, died at 6:45 p.m. Monday in the Marion Memorial Hospital.
She was born Dec. 22, 1894, in Williamson County to Oscar and Sarah Bradley Cash. She married Elmer J. Howerton May I, 1915. Mrs. Howerton was a-homemaker and a member of the Rails Grove Christian Church, southeast of Marion.
She is survived by her husband; two daughters, Delores Fluke and Lucille Doughty, both of Marion; four sisters, Marie Anderson of Summit, Finnie Taylor of Stonefort, Loudene Moore and Elsie Fowler, both of Marion; two grandchildren and a great-grandchild. Three brothers, a sister, and a son, Luther, preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Mitchell Funeral Home in Marion. The Rev. Earl Ligon will officiate. Burial win be in the Odd Fellows Cemetery in Marion. Friends may call after 6 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
