Mr. James "Jimmy" Clayton Coltrane, Sr., 80, of Orlando St., died early Friday evening, June 25, 2004 lovingly surrounded by his family.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at George Brothers Funeral Service with burial to follow at Guilford Memorial Park.

Mr. Coltrane bravely served his country during WWII with the United States Air Force flying 33 successful missions as navigator on a B-24 Bomber. When he returned from service, he founded and operated Coltrane Construction Company.

"Jimmy" leaves behind his wife, Nancy T. Coltrane; children, Clayton Coltrane, Jr., (Shirley) of Baden Lake, Sydney Coltrane (Nancy) of Atlanta, Kenneth Coltrane (Doris), Gary Branson (Jackie), and Kenneth Branson all of Greensboro; brothers and sisters, Harold Coltrane of Kernersville, Frances Boyles of Greensboro, Frank Coltrane of Ala., Faye Henley (Junior) of McLeansville, and Fred Coltrane (Janet) of Greensboro; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
