Stella was the daughter of Benjamin Pearson and Sarah Ellis Hawley. She moved to Byron, Big Horn County, Wyoming about 1905, with her mother, three brothers and two sisters. Stella worked with her mother on the tunnel of the Shoshone River in the Corbett area between Powell and Cody. Stella was a very industrious woman, good wife, mother, homemaker and cook. She made everyone feel welcome and was very thoughtful of anyone who was in need of assistance in any way. To know her was to love her. She had many firiends, painted water color and oil paintings. did embroidery work and was an excellent seamstress. She was active in MIA, Relief Society, Sunday School and Primary. Stella died 11 days after her 10th child was born (Stella Beryl), at the age of 39 and 7 months of peritonities. Her life had been an examplary one.
