12 May 1961 - Last rites for Thomas Dewitt Colston, age 68, who died at Ft. Jesup Baptist Church [??] at 2 p.m. May 6, with Rev. Jack E. Byrd officiating. Interment was in church cemetery under the direction of Warren Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were: Arthur Wagley, Charlie Self, Herbert Leach, Florien Arthur, T. C. Forbis and Willie Bell.

Survivors are wife Mrs. Christine Colston of Many, sons, Sylvester, Howard and Aubrey Colston, all of Many, daughter, Mrs. Doris Russell of Nederland, Texas, 1 sister Mrs. Mattie Stringer of Toro, 11 granchildren, 1 great-grand child.

THOMAS D. COLSTON

MANY, May 5 (Special) - Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday for Thomas D. Colston, 68, who died in a Zwolle clinic Friday after a lengthy illness.

The services will be held in the Ft. Jesup Baptist Church with the Rev. Jack E. Byrd, the Rev. Ralph Stevens and the Rev A. Hutto officiating. Burial will be in the Ft. Jesup Cemetery under the direction of Warren Funeral Home of Many.

Survivors include his widow; three sons, Sylvestor Colston, Howard Colston, and Aubrey Colston of Many; on daughter Mrs. Doris Russel of Nederland, Tex.; one sister, Mrs. Mattie Stringer of Toro; 11 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
