Inez "Suzy" Latta
Inez May Latta, 76, of 2315 S. Blain died Saturday at a local hospital
Memorial services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Charles Olsen will officiate.
Apfel-Butler-Geddes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Memorials are suggested to the church.
Miss Latta was born Nov. 25, 1906, at Clay Center, the daughter of Dr. James A. and Ada Bavinger Latta. She received her early education at Clay Center and was a graduate of the University of Nebraska with a degree in English, speech and drama.
She taught school at Pierce and then came to Grand Island where she taught at Grand Island Senior High School. She also did graduate work at Columbis University, Northwestern University and the Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York City.
In 1946 she became co-owner of the Blossom Shop, and in 1973 sold it and retired. Her lifelong friend was Betty Kelso of Grand Island.
She was a member of the First Prsbyterian Church.
Survivors inlude a brother, William Latta of Parksville, Mo., a niece, Beth Stumbo of Atlanta, Ga., and a nephew, Bruce Latta of Sioux Falls, S.D.
