A native of Virginia City, Nevada. Henrietta Marie Setaro was the daughter of Antonio Setaro and Maria Jesus Viva Seminario. Henrietta moved with her large family to San Francisco before 1890 and attended local schools before beginning a lifelong career with San Francisco's Italian newspaper L'Italia where she was a part owner and secretary to the publisher, Ettore Patrizi.
Henrietta was a much loved aunt of the Setaro family and never married. She was active in benefiting the welfare of her Italian North Beach community, where she was a lifelong resident. She was instrumental in helping to establish the Italian American Community Services Agency providing services for those in need.
She is interred along with her other unmarried sister, Anita who died in 1971.
