Lori was the beloved daughter of Gerald and Linda Peugeot. Her daddy was serving overseas with the U.S. Navy, so she and her mommy were living with relatives in Bel Air, Maryland. On September 22, 1969, the day before her third birthday, she went shopping with her mother, Linda. They were in the parking lot of the department store, when they were abducted at gunpoint by a fugitive that had just murdered police officer, Joseph Zanella. When he was apprehended in Linda's GTO two weeks later in Iowa, he finally confessed that she had agreed to take him to Canada, but became afraid for her daughter's safety in Pennsylvania and refused to go further. Linda was killed, and then Lori was killed a few days later. Linda and Lori have never been located for burial, and this is little Lori's only place of remembrance.
