John Leroy Vandruff, a son of Sherman and Florence Osborn VanDruff, was born near Stockdale, Kansas, on September 6, 1895; departed this life at his home in Wichita Falls, Texas, on May 13, 1920, aged 25 years, 8 months and 7 days.

The departed spent the greater part of his life with his parents near Riley. Three years ago last February he moved with his parents to New Mexico, where the family lived until about two months ago.

On account of the failing health of John, the family moved to Wichita Falls, Texas, in the hope that a change of climate would help him to recover. He grew weaker until the end came. The cause of his death was heart failure.

He leaves a mother, three brothers, Earl, Floyd and Nelson; two sisters, Etta Siler and Ruby Zeigler.
