Mr. Richards was born Sept. 3, 1898, in Otterville, Mo., and was employed by the Kansas City Stockyards 38 years before coming to Goodman. He was a member of the Baptist church.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Maudie Richards; two sons, George Richards and Raymond Richards, both of Los Angeles, Calif.; a daughter, Mrs. Juanita Miller, Los Angeles, Calif.; three stepdaughters, Mrs. Jeanine McClintock, Mrs. Wathena Bates and Mrs. Imogene Holker, all of Kansas City, Mo.; a stepson, Dwayne Lowe, Grandview, Mo., and 15 grandchildren.
