Obituary
FUNERAL HELD FOR WIFE OF COUNTY COMMISSIONER TRIDELL (Special) -- Largely attended were the funeral services Sunday at 2:30 p.m. in the Tridell Ward chapel for Ruth McCinkie McKee, 45, wife of J. Ray McKee, chairman of the board of Uintah County commisioners, who died March 5, at the family home following a long illness. Bishop H. LeRoy Morrill officiated with Parley H. Goodrich offering the invocation and the benediction by Bishop Alma Preece of Ashley Ward and a member of the board of Uintah County commissioners. Music was furnished by the Tridell Ward choir who sang "Sometime We'll Understand" and "I Know That My Redeemer Lives," A soprano solo, "Viennese Refrain" was rendered by Miss Beth McConkie. A tribute written by Mrs. McKee's brother, Brig McConkie in memory of his sister, was read by Mrs. Martha Morrill. Speakers were Charles B. Bartlett and Archie Johnson, counselor and Hyrum B. Calder, president of the Uintah Stake with closing remarks by Bishop Morrill. There were many beautiful floral offerings tastefully arranged on bier and chancel. Interment was made in the Tridell Ward under the direction of the Swain Funeral Home. Charles McConkie dedicated the grave. Pallbearers were Brig McConkie and Mrs. McKee's five sons, Lorin and Newell, DeVon, Reed and Duane. Ruth McConkie was born in Moab January 28, 1897, daughter of Charles W. and Viola Roberston McConkie and moved to Vernal with her parents a few years later. Mr. and Mrs. McKee moved to Tridell in 1916 after their marriage in the Salt Lake Temple. Surviving in addition to her husband, are five sons: Lorin, Newell, Reed, Vaughan and Duane McKee of Tridell; two daughters, Miss Veda ad Miss Verda McKee of Tridell; her father and mother of Vernal and the following brothers and sisters: Reuben, Brigham, Virtus and Edna McConkie, of Vernal; Dewey and Reed McConkie; Mrs. Edith Goodrich and Mrs. Ethel Goodrich of Tridell and George McConkie, Mrs. Martha Osborne and Mrs. Zina McNeil of Salt Lake.
