Verla Irene Monahan Jessop Pehrson age 90, passed away in Providence surrounded by her loving family.

Verla was born in North Platte Nebraska to Charles Bert and Clara Louisa Monahan on March 15, 1913. She was the fifth of 10 children. The family moved to Green River, Wyoming when Verla was ten. There she met and married David E. Jessop on Oct 1932. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan Temple.

They were the parents of six children: Elmo Franklin (stillborn), Shirley Gibbs (Clark), Jo Davis (Reid deceased), Charles Jessop (Lou), Evelyn Jensen (Gordon) and Ruth Fluckiger (Brent). Dave, Verla and family moved to Millville, Utah in 1944, which has been her home for 58 years. Dave passed away in May of 1966.

On Oct 9, 1974 Verla married George A. Pehrson in Logan, Utah. This added 4 children to the family: Galane Postma (Dave), Mary Jean Hatch (Lorell), Doug Pehrson (Luann) and Marv Pehrson (Bev).George passed away Dec. 4, 2001.

Verla was a loving, caring mother, Grandmother (54), Great Grandmother (86), Great, Great Grandmother (34). Verla was an excellent homemaker, a great cook, making delicious homemade bread, pies and cake on her coal stove. She was also a seamstress sewing clothing for her self and daughters, and kept her home clean and tidy. Verla was proceeded in death by two husbands, 4 siblings, a son and grandson.

She will be greatly missed. The family would like to thank Dr. Firth and staff, and Rocky Mtn. Home Care for their excellent and compassionate care.

Funeral services will be held at 12 noon, Saturday, September 6, 2003 at the Millville 1st Ward Chapel, 110 South Main Street, Millville, Utah. Friends may call at the Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 East Center Street, Logan on Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. and at the Church on Saturday, from 10:30-11:30 a.m. prior to services. Interment will be in the Millville Cemetery.
