Mrs. Carol Pauline Moxley Benton, 86, passed away peacefully Thursday, February 22, 2018 at Forsyth Medical Center. Mrs. Benton was born August 5, 1931 in Yadkin County to Paul and Stella Smith Moxley.
After her mother’s passing at the age of 4, she became the daughter of Joyce Martin Moxley whom she deeply loved.
She was a member of Fall Creek Baptist Church. Carol was a devoted Christian that loved her Lord, the bible, and her family. Her faith sustained her always.
In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by her loving husband, MJ Benton; and two sisters, Lucille Groce and Magalene Parks.
She is survived by four children, Judy (Rick) Poindexter, Kay Holcomb, Deborah (Al) White, and Terry (Jan) Benton; seven grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; two sisters, Phyllis Groce and Glenda Gilliam; one brother, Bill (Mary) Moxley; a sister-in-law, Ollie Benton; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted at 3:00PM, Sunday, February 25, 2018 at Fall Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Don Hudson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 3:00PM prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Fall Creek Baptist Church Library Fund, 3320 Fall Creek Church Road Jonesville, NC 28642 or to The Gideons PO Box 2451 Yadkinville, NC 27055.
