Roy Willey Services Monday
Funeral services for Mr. Roy Willey were held Monday afternoon in the Byron LDS chapel, with Bishop Clifford Powelson officiating.
Mr. Willey, an early day pioneer, passed away in North Big Horn hospital early Saturday morning. He had been a patient there about two weeks, after haivng been transferred from a Billings hospital, where he had been a patient for several weeks.
Norma Hessenthaler played prelude and a postlude music, The Singing Mothers sang "I Know That My Redeemer Lives; and Ernest Jensen offered the invocation, Vera Griggs read the obituary and remarks were given by George Abraham Sr. "In the Garden" was sung by Nola Christofferson, followed by the sermon by President Glenn Nielson of Cody. A tio, Mrs. Ina Snell, Mrs. Winn Brown and Mrs. Bob Doerr, sang "Prayer Perfect," and R.R. Lewis of Cowley offered the benediction.
Pall bearers were Richard, Kimball and James Willey, Carl Yorgason, Roy Hoffman and Rud Robison.
Louis Wolz offered the casket prayer and the grave was dedicated by Arden Payne. Interment was in the Byron cemetery under the direction of Haskell Funeral Home.
Roy Willey was born Feb. 4, 1879, in Bountiful, Utah, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Parley Willey. He married Clarissa Robison Oct. 5, 1904 at Salt Lake City, Utah. He was a member of the Byron LDS church and had been an active member of both his church and the community of Byron. Mr. Willey was a retired agriculturist.
Surviving are his widow of Byron; five sons, Roy R. of Reno, Nev., True R. of Byron, Ivan R. of Laramie, Lynn R. of Logan Utah and Layle R. of Casper; two daughters, Mrs. Woodrow Wilson of Randolph, Utah and Mrs. Golden Stoker of Logan; a brother, Marvin of Bountiful; two sisters, Mrs. Armenia W. Lee of Carston, Alberta, Can. and Mrs. Louella W. Mitchell of Bountiful; 21 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
